  • Cairnmore Renewables Project decision date set

In May 2008, The Greenspan Agency, working on behalf of the developer Greenspan Electric, submitted a planning application for four Vestas V52 wind turbines at Cairnmore farm near Rhynie in Aberdeenshire.  After detailed discussions with the consultees, the number of turbines in the project was reduced from four to three, in order to limit the visual and environmental impact of the project to an absolute minimum.

The committee report, summarising the consultee feedback regarding the proposal, has now been completed by the planners.  The date for the planning meeting has been set for the end of January.  The response from the consultees was overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority of consultees stating that they have no objections to the project.

The Greenspan Agency believe that the Cairnmore Renewables Project is situated in an ideal location to provide green renewable electricity to the local area, to help meet the government targets, whilst providing extremely minimal impacts to the local environment and residents.  The project will save over 6,000 tonnes of CO2 and other greenhouse gasses from being emitted every year, and provide enough electricity to meet the annual demand of around 1,500 households.
